Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media are working hard to paint Trump supporters as violent activists who need to be punished after less than approximately 200 people breached the Capitol building on January 6th (not all of whom were Trump supporters). Curiously, Democrats were in full support of BLM and Antifa, as they ravaged cities across America over the past two years.
This afternoon, the House Oversight and Reform Committee delved into the continuing delays in delivering the mail. House members grilled Trump-appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on his plans and strategies for the USPS. Instead of blaming DeJoy for the failures of the USPS, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) ripped into Democrats, saying they deserve a large part of the blame for the failures of the USPS. Biggs claimed Democrat lawmakers “consistently turned a blind eye to nationwide mayhem, destruction rioting and looting conducted by Black Lives Matter and Antifa activists.”
Here’s a partial transcript of the bold, outspoken conservative US Rep. Andy Biggs:
Many businesses and government agencies, including the US Postal Service, saw their entities burn and operations halted because of the persistent, violent riots.
Fredrick Rolando, President of the Letter Carriers Association stated, “The Postal properties and vehicles have been ransacked during the recent wave of civil unrest, and letter carriers have been assaulted and robbed on their routes. Their irresponsible actions harm postal employees and the citizens we serve.”
Here are a few examples of how the postal service was impacted by these events: In Minneapolis, two post offices were burned and USPS vans were stolen and torched by rioting protesters. Also in Minneapolis, the USPS shut down mail delivery at 7 post offices. The Kenosha Post Office in Wisconsin had to close down indefinitely due to the violent riots. In Chicago, at least 6 post offices were broken into and burglarized, affecting mail delivery operations. And in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, post offices were pelted with debris as riots erupted across that city.
To make matter worse, a member of this committee (Rep. Ayanna Pressley [D-MA]) went on national television, ostensibly to discuss the USPS funding crisis and called for continuing violence and unrest in the streets.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Postmaster DeJoy faced protests outside of his home in DC, perpetrated by false narratives by our colleagues on this committee.
Given all this evidence, I think our Democrat colleagues owe an apology to Postmaster General DeJoy and all the hardworking postal service workers who were affected by the BLM and Antifa riots of 2020.
Rep. Biggs cited articles from Star Tribune.com from The Gateway Pundit and Breitbart citing examples of USPS offices that were either closed or severely damaged by BLM and Antifa.
